4.17 Honesty is wrong

Nothing good ever came out of phones; nothing. Yet, she sometimes still answered them: Hello? The man at the other end sounded harmless enough, but it still was a bit surprising: Uhm... could you say that again? How did you get my number?

Listen Alex... was that your name? I'm married... yes happily! She had no idea who that was: So, no I don't want to go on a date. And really, she had absolitely no idea who that guy was. She'd never met anyone with that name, ever! Please don't call me again. Where did men learn their manners?!

She had other things she'd rather do than going on date with strange men after all.

She didn't feel any better as time moved on either; and another pregnancy test just confirmed the first. It felt so aweful not telling, especially when she did her best to finish the painting of her daughter and husband. What was she going to do? She wanted to keep the baby, but they had agreed not to have any more. Other than that, she just felt sick: and she had one craving odder than the other!

Finally they had a day off together; even if it was an official calendar- red- day. She heard Daniel get out of bed, before he walked over: It looks good. You're a very good painter. He had no idea how she did that, he'd never modelled for anything.

She had to be in her line of work, another thing she hadn't told him. She was such a fake and a liar! Not to mention stupid: Thank you. She wasn't that good really. Beeing an artist was about more than just copying what you could see.

I'll take the kids. Irena had woken up about the same time he had.

Or more likely; he'd woken up because she had. Kids didn't have to move around a lot, before the parent woke to: Morning sweety.

Mowning! Irena wasn't a cranky kid in the morning atleast; they were lucky that way. Though he sure wished she talked a bit less.

He wondered if she was ever going to sleep longer than to four in the bloody morning: Are you sure you're not a bit more tired honey? It was worth trying atleast. He didn't envy Ainos light sleep, but he sure wished he woke up also to have a little time alone in the morning.

I'm awake! No sleepy! Ofcourse not...

And whilst the kids were warm, dry, clean, dressed and full...

...he was cold, smelly, dirty, hungry and naked... Just like it was supposed to be

Maybe he should tell Aino that he'd found the positive pregnancy test? She definitly knew that he wouldn't go bonkers over another kid. He was more than happy with just two, but these things happened.

You do know I found the pregnancy test right? Might as well get it overwith. He'd never understand why she was constantly worried that he'd get mad over anything. How often did he get angry anyway.

It took a small forever before finally answering: no.

Are you sure you're pregnant? They were kind of a bit old to have kids again, but then they'd just be a bit wrinkled by the time the little one, grew slightly older.

Aino nodded; Yeah, I'm sure. Other than you know, two pregnancytests, I throw up, I want to eat all the time, and you might have noticed I've been a bit... you know...

Horny? Hefinished her sentence.

There's kids here.

Yeah, but they don't know what that is... wait, what are we going to tell them when they ask you what's in there? How are we going to explaing how it got in there! It had been easy with the two, because they were so close in age. Irena would be a child by the time the new one was born.

Wow, was it really her that was the calm one this time? That was a new turn of things.

Aino spoke with low voice, the nearby music making it difficult for the kids to hear their conversation: We just tell them that you put your penis into my....

What?! He nearly forgot to chew the food.

What? What was the problem? That's how she'd had it explained

The kids don't know what it means... They were toddlers!

Ofcourse they do. I've told them what to call everything. And they've seen us naked, and eachother. They know how sims looks without clothes on.

Why are you so weirderd out, anyway? You have the kids naked on public beaches. Not that she didn't approve, but he could do that but not thell them what everything was called?

Point taken. But...

Don't worry, Daniel. I'll do it.

Good, that was what he was aiming for.

Ofcourse the official day off had to be spent the proper way; like a real family. And like every real family, the dogs had to come to and ride the front seat. Max wasn't thrilled about having to sit in the back, but youth sometimes trumped wisdom; and he didn't have a lot of any of it.

To think that two dogs could have so much love for eachother for so many years, and not tear eachother to shreds.

Also like a good parent, Aino made Niko try something he had no interest in at all. Because that's what parents do: make their kids try things they have no interest in and assume they are going to love it. Ofcourse, he thought it was fun, but with long eyes he stared at his older sister...

Because Brick... Brick was the best toy, and way to many arguments were had over it.

Pregnant again, Aino decided to participate in an eating contest; because she was eating for two! She'd definitely win this one. Maturely waiting for the rest of the contestant, she pretended her hands were the judges.

The judges hopefully wouldn't hold her attempt at charming them against her. Even worse was probably that another one of the contestants showed what an aweful sense of humor he had; the poor guy just couldn't hold his laughter back anymore. Aino getting someone to laugh had to be a sign that the world was coming to an end.

But when the bell rang, she was focused on toys! No, hotdogs, she was focused on hot dogs.

Ofcourse Aino and Daniel ended up taking the leads, competing against eachother. Couldn't he atleast let her win? She never won anything!

In the end, she lost against her own husband; the king of hot dogs...When he said he was a doglover, she hadn't known it was this he meant.

With the pregnancy came a painful back; so even if it was still a bit early; Aino just accepted the backrub. They were pretty nice to get, especially when pregnant. They should probably stay closer to the kids, but the place was open so it was easy to keep an eye on them.

It was good that Daniel was the king of hotdogs, because horseshoes and him weren't the best of friends.

It's okay baby, Aino did her best to comfort her husband: I'm sure you'll hit something this time around... like your face, or your foot or... What? He should've let her win the hotdog competition! She was pregnant with his kid, so she deserved it by default!

He was really terrible at this; he barely even hit anything: Come one baby, you can do it! To ease her own guilt, she tried cheering him on a bit. That would definitely help.

Nope, it didn't help at all. Maybe he'd never played this before: but it did belong in the countryside, didn't it? Wait, Midnight Hollow was considered the countryside right?

Which meant that she won! She'd won a competition, and she never won anything! Well, she did, but that wasn't the point: Did I do good?

You did great gorgeous. And he didn't even pretend that he'd let her win; like a real gentleman. Because frankly, she'd sunk him brutally. Her bouncing up and down, cheering at him hadn't helped his consentration either.

Whilst they'd been away, someone had put something in the mailbox. It turned out to be a small picture with a little note attatched: Dear Daniel. I saw this and immideately thought of you. Hope you like it. From some woman. And a note from his boss: I know this comes as a surprise, but I'm crazy about you. Let's meet and see where things goes from there.

Some lady she had no idea who was, and his boss. Clenching her teeth together, Aino slapped in an attempted relaxed smile. She wasn't jealouse, nope, not at all. She was just going to throw these things in the trash, and pretend that she'd never seen any. Because that's what you did in a marriage. Yes... honesty sucked...

It wasn't long until Irenas birthday. A few sims were invited for a short celebration as usual, as both parents had to leave for work in a few hours.

She grew up looking as expected, still rocking the pigtails.

Despite just having grown up, she knew she liked gifts already: What is it?! It was just a map inside, handdrawn by a father with little drawing talent. It was just a map that went into to garage...

But the gift that waited in there, was well worth it. Irena had no idea where her love for water had come from. Though if she grew up to be a sailor, she'd be thrilled! Best not to tell her parents where she'd tried her new board...

They hadn't know that Avocado was pregnant, but when she gave birth to kittens one of them really stood out. Was it supposed to look like that? Aino thought kittens were cute but... it was one ugly one. They'd probably get used to how it looked eventually?

Even with the unfortunate death of Nefertum the cat, everything was perfect. Aino was adorable as pregnant, and they were waiting for a healthy little baby. They'd wanted just two, but now it seemed like they would be three instead. They had four bedrooms, so it was perfect. Absolutely perfect.

In the early morning hours, Aino went into labour and once again the trip went to the hospital. Though this time she'd spend a few days there. It was nice to have her home atleast, so daily life could go on as normal: You did so good, gorgeous, Daniel murmured to his wife. She kept kissing him, but this time they were certain: no more babies.

A little babygirl; Neda, was laying peacfully in the crib Irena had as a toddler. They hadn't been bothered to buy a new one. The birth had been a long one for a change: I love you. Aino was happy she had such a beautiful family. And it was so amazing to have another girl: I love you to.

Hey! You said there would be just one of them! Irena stared at her babybrother Dragan. Dad had bought an identical crib and put it up before mum came back from the hospital. She liked having one more girl, but why did they have another boy? What a waste of good space.

Yeah. Daniel sighed: That's what the doctor told us to. Doctors sucked

Irena giggled, it was a bit funny that the doctor had tricked mum and dad. But now they had to take some time off, both of them. They were going to start with Aino, since she'd been the one giving birth. He'd already got an appointment for a vasectomy, just to be on the safe side. No.More.Kids.

Soon it was time for Nikos birthday, and just not to treat any differently; another small party was held. Jack was just happy that he was allowed to skip the first hours of school for this.

Niko grew up looking a bit more dramatic than his sister, but there was no drama with him. He highly preffered things to be neat and orderly; which was difficult to obtain in this den of hairballs and sims.
-------------------------------------------------------
Natural twins, thanks a lot game :( They've been playing pop- music for the record, not kids. They were supposed to be five)

Both the cats have had kittens, but Belsebub is a boy so his kids live in another household. Avocado had FOUR kittens, so I just added three to another household and kept the ugliest one;because you have too keep the ugliest one.

And a fun fact; when I rolled perfect match/opposits attract I "made" a few sims that could fit any of them. Then I waited to see who would meet her first; thus letting the game decided if it would be perfect match or not. The guy that's laughing at the hotdog contest is one of the "perfect match" guys.

Every time Aino looked at her children, she thought about her firstborn. Sometimes it was a long thought that didn't go away for the rest of the day; other times it was a short flashback. She would be a child by now. Wonder how she looked? Maybe like her? Maybe like dad? Strangely enough, she never thought she'd look like the father or grandmother. It was to painful. Today, Nikos bad mood saved her mind from going awry. He did not want to stop!

His bad mood never laster long, and as many times Aino tried finding something wrong with her kids, she never found anyhing suspicious. Mainly she looked for a lack of abilities to bond, or no empathy; but they both seemed so normal- they definitely got that from their dads side of the family.

And when Niko was cranky, so was Irena! Because then she'd get attention to! And for once her parents had let her ride a boat, not some stupid horse. She wanted a boat when she grew up! A boat made of bricks, because bricks!!

Just like her brother, she also was easygoing, and empathic. So Aino was rather sure none of them were... well, like her mother. That didn't mean other sims didn't have a lot to say about them as parents though. For some reason Daniels satanic tattoos was a cause for concern, and so were her microshorts ands heels. No one ever cared about the healthy, happy toddlers; they just saw skulls, goathorns and flesh. It was nice to have Daniel around then, he was a bit less polite than her. Not that he wasn't friendly, just not as overly- polite as her.

She was finally lucky, and happy. It was just... someone was missing, and always would. Once and again a trace of her mother showed up, just to show itself to be false. And sometimes the occational sims would phone, and claim they were her daughter, or knew where she was; just because they thought it was funny. She still got disappointed every time it happened, because as much as she tried understanding that Catherine was never coming back, the hope of it would never go away.

Maybe she was just thinking so much about it now, because Irenas birthday was so close by. They should've been three; they were supposed to have a bigger sister that was in school already. One that would be there when their first day of school started. But she wasn't. Wonder what had happened to her?

Wonder how she'd look? If her hair stayed as light as the fine hairs on her newborn head, or if darkened as it so often does when they grow older. Wonder if her eyes were still that deep, dark blue that made her skin crawl, because they reminded of her father.

Wonder where she was at; and what she likes to do? Maybe she liked playing with dolls like her, or if she was as grown- up as her grandfather had been as a child.

Wonder if she's still alive, and if mum is with her. And if she were, how did she treat her?

Hit Niko wut bwick? That was the good thing about toddlers, they usually ripped her out of any thoughts: Nonono! Don't hit Niko with Brick!! Who's idea had it been to give the girl a brick to play with? For some reason, she suspected her brother- in- law, but to be fair; her husband would do something like that to.

Aino was lucky enough to have a husband that actually took care of the children. So whilst  waiting for the carpool, she took the time to paint a bit. She hadn't painted since... well, since everything. And for once she chose something else than her cats as models. Ofcourse, with where she was heading; it was important that she didn't let her paintingskills go. Wonder what he'd say if he knew what she really did for a living? She'd been so stupid.

As his wife went to work, Daniel took his kids with him and visited his brother. Aino would join him when she was off work. His brother had finally gotten a kid, and even married the woman. Ewa, the little baby, was adorable in her tiny dress.

Andrews wife, Ailin was kind enough to watch the kids a bit, whilst the brothers caught up a bit. The blonde hair couldn't fool anyone; by putting the kids infront of the tv she kept them quiet and occupied. Ofcourse, she was a doctor, so what else was there to be expected than brilliance

How much do they poop anyway? I think we use three packs of diapers a day! Andy complained: how long until it stops?

Daniel wished that his brother could know how good this felt for him; that all- knowing sense of beeing utterly viscious when the new parents were tired and in despair: It's still a long way until she can be pottytrained. And then you have to empty it... the smell in unbelievable.

Even better was the face new parents pulled, when they understood they were in this for the long run: It gets worse?

Nodding, Daniel was all to happy to tell even more: A lot worse. Just wait until she starts eating porridge and that stuff; that's when the real smell begins. And the poop gets even smellier. Your home is going to smell like this for ages. Have you started getting strangely obsessed with poop yet?

....yes.... What was it with parenting and poop that was so fascinating. He didn't even get why he was!

Just out of curiosity Andy....

... are the two of you planning on having more than just one? Daniel did his best to keep the smile away, with Ailin sick in the background.

No. One is enough. We barely have room enough for Ewa, and Ailin and I decided that one was enough. We both have busy careers.

Nodding, he couldn't have agreed more. Him and Aino were just supposed to have one kid also.

Then they were shortly interrupted by the sound of her throwing up, and the flushing toilet: That's just a stomach flu. No ones pregnant here. She just gave birth, and it's safe this short after a birth right? Right? It's just a virus...

Yeah, that's how we ended up with Niko; it was all safe after the pregnancy. He enjoyed seeing his older brother swallow deeply; panick rising in his eyes. Ofcourse, it could be the stomachflu, but most likely not. The baby wasn't that little after all.

Coughing lightly, Andy changed the subject: So, are you and your wife planning on having any more?

No. Two is enough. It's more than enough, especially with the enormous ammount of cats we have. Not to mention that Aino had given birth to three kids, not two. But sometimes he forgot, as much as he hated admitting it. Besides, she'd been really deep in thoughts about it the last days and weeks even. She probably missed her daughter.

What's taking your wife so long, anyway? Isn't she supposed to be off work by now?

Uhm, I'm not sure. She said she'd come straight over. And it was right down the main street. If he went outside, he could see where she worked from this place. As much as she wasn't a fan of familymeetings and such, she wasn't directly anti- social, just a bit nervous: Could you watch the kids for a few minutes. I'll go and see if I can find her.

She'd quit a bot earlier than usual. It had been difficult to ask, but no problem getting the extra time off. It wasn't even anything important that was waiting; or, important was such a wrong idea to think about. It was important, just not from a work- point- of- view. She was meeting Daniels newest niece, and spending some time with his family. Not that she got why she had to be there, but he probably expected her to bond with Andrews wife; for some reason.

She decided to take the shortest route past a bar. Usually she avoided those, because: No, she wasn't "working the streets", and all the creepy cars that started slowing down when passing her was gross and scary. Yes, she knew there were hookers around here, but they were harmless, and usually didn't come out until after dark. Aino would never get why so many assumed she was a working gal... They  wore more clothes than her...

No. Why did she always run into Kol when it didn't suit? Which it never did, but that wasn't the point? The woman Kol was talking to, didn't even look scared. She stood relaxed and simple. Aino hadn't seen him other than at a distance since she'd made fun of his dick, and hadn't heard from his lawyer since he withhdrew the lawsuit.

Still a bit proud, she was even more scared that he'd notice her, and come after her again. Why wasn't he angry with that woman? Was it her that made him act that way? What was it that she did to make sims so furious? Aino tripped along as fast as her heels could manage, without actually running.

She didn't draw a deep breath, even if it was just to cross the street, and walk straight down it; even if she was so close to safety- she knew Kol was coming after her. He always did, and she never got away. Never. Even if she was straight outside the firestation.

Wonder what he'd do this time? Maybe this time he'd kill her for real? Maybe he'd actually take her life away? If he did, she'd never know what happened with Catherine. What if... what if he knew something about her? What if he knew where she was?

She'd waited to long for him to show up. Why couldn't she just learn how to make a run for it? Kol came closer as Aino kept walking backwards; the bravery she'd found all that time ago vanished: Out working the streets I see. He hadn't changed at all, even with the heels she was wearing he stood a lot taller than her. It was best not to answer, maybe he wouldn't kill her as long as it was still afternoon. Even if the darkness crept in on them to silently.

How is it that I keep running into you? You had my father, and now my daughter killed; yet you are still out on the streets. Maybe he'd given up on getting rid of her? It almost sounded like it. Or maybe he was just bidding his time. All her bravery had gone away with Cat. Without her to protect, there was nothing for her to fight for. Or maybe she had other reasons not to fight.

Taking one long look on her diamond- engagment ring, Kol leaned in closer: Does he know you're a murderer and a whore? That you fuck other men because they tell you to? She had told him that she'd cheated, but she highly doubted Kol wanted her to answer. It was best just not to say anything. Maybe he didn't know it was the same man that he'd met before.

She didn't want anyone else to know how Catherine had been concieved, especially her husband. But... she was in the middle of the streets now, and it was daytime. So he couldn't do anything. Well, he could and most likely no one would stop him. But maybe he thought someone would?

Or maybe he knew how the city worked, just as much as she did. No one cared if they saw anyone getting mugged here. Grabbing her face, pressing his hand against her throat he got that all familiar creepy smile back: We should make another baby. I know you'll love it. Smile for me, because you're not getting away.

-----------TW---------

This could not be happening. There were sims everywhere, just not right here! They were right behind the wall, straight around the corner; just not right here: I won't fight... Please don't leave any marks, she didn't want to explain anymore marks. It was a lot easier just to let it happen, a lot easier, and safer; so much safer. Because Kol was brutal if you fought back. Besides, it didn't matter what he did as long as she made it out alive.

Kol, please. I won't fight. Aino would do anything he asked her to, she didn't want to die. Not yet, it could wait; it had to wait. Couldn't he just get it over with? It always took so long, and it just never ended. It went on and on and on and on. She couldn't afford to get agiated now, or to get harmed. Not now. No bruises.

Here he'd been just waiting to pick some old lady. And here she was. He'd been good and stayed away; like he was supposed to. He'd promised to leave her alone, and he had. But, now that she'd just popped up here....

Ofcourse he wasn't supposed to interfer, wasn't any of his business. He had other things to do, better things. Important things; like picking up dead sims. Ofcourse, that was just nasty. Not that he wasn't nasty himself, but not like that nasty. So, why not? Who was going to rat him out?

Say you want it... And that voice he used; gross; I won't fight Kol, I won't fight. She just kept repeating that over and over, the few times she wasn't hyperventilating.

Oh, he was actually going to... wow: Please don't.. I won't.

Shut up! The guy hissed. Okay, he wasn't technically allowed to interferr with the living. But he wasn't really interfering, he just like...

... showed how she was supposed to look... Then she wasn't technically living either- so that was okay. Because... uhm... technicalities This was why he was the best reaper there was...

Wow... Aino barely had any hearing left after that shriek he'd let out. And look at him legging it. Not that she wasn't happy about it, she just wondered if she should be scared about something to.

---TW END---

She had no idea who the guy was, or where he came from. But he did look oddly familiar; like she'd seen him before. He wasn't saying anything, so maybe she'd finally lost it. Unless Kol had managed to kill her, and she was dead. That would make him Death. That was most likely with the way he looked; are you real?

No. He said with dry voice, avoiding looking at her.

She must have really lost it this time: Are you sure, because you look real.

I'm sure I'm not real. Why? Do I seem real to you? You can see me as I was a physical beeing? What? He was Death, if he wanted to mindfuck someone he could! It wasn't like he actually wanted to know if she could see him as she'd see a real sim.

Uhm. Yes I can see you like you're a physical beeing. Why? Is that weird?

A bit. She looked a lot better this way.

Death would never get why the living didn't think death was attractive; especially him. The living were stupid: Am.. am I dead?

The reaper didn't really lie, because she wasn't dead: No. You're very much alive.

I feel a bit spongy and moist...

You're not. This is just your imagination. You'll be fine soon. Everything will be fine. He'd always known it was a bad idea to let her stay here. It was to late to do anything about it now, and it would be a bit unfair. But when her time came- everything would be fine

Death had no idea how she'd ended up in his arms like that, but it was a nice hug. He hadn't had one of those in a few lifetimes. Ofcourse, she wouldn't remember meeting him, but right now it didn't matter: Aino! A faint voice called her name.

Daniel stopped at the sight of the firetruck; like most sims he'd dreamt about becoming a firefighter when he was kid. Then he'd grown up and understood that sims died in fires; in very painful ways. They still fascinated though. It was one of those things that he still struggled getting used to. The constant presence of sirense; police, fire, ambulance; there was so much noise in the large cities. In Midnight Hollow, everyone had sped to the windows if they heard a siren, and usually it was just some police out to fine a kid with a moped. Here there were real crimes; like shootouts and murders.

He turned around on his heel as she approached: Why didn't you pick up the phone? I've been worrying sick about you! What happened? He casually picked out some dry old grass from her hair, wiped some dust off her arms.

I'm sorry.... she immidetealy said, so he felt guilty just as quickly: It's okay. But you scared me. What took you so long?

Uhm, I ran into someone and lost a bit track of time. Did she understand that he saw the redish marks around her wrists? They were faint, but still there.

He wanted to ask if it was the same man that she "cheated" with, but frankly he had no idea what would happen if he did.

Do you want to have sex? With me, I mean.

You know, you don't have to point out that you mean with you. That's kind of given. He answered, like whoelse would she mean? Whatever had happened, she seemed rather calm.

Is that a yes?

Grabbing her, he carefully pulled her closer, smelling the faint scent of dirt on her: It would be a lot easier, if you just told me what's wrong instead. He picked a bit more grass out of her hair.

Okay... I want to have sex because it makes me feel better. And she needed to feel better, but she felt a bit good to at the same time. Like something good had happened, because he'd ran off screaming in terror before anything happened. But she couldn't remember why. She didn't remember a lot of things.

It wasn't that he didn't want to sleep with her, but was this even healthy: Well, I'd like to have sex to. But we have kids that needs to be picked up. Tickling her back with his fingers, he almost forgot that he was supposed to be upset; he loved when she used that skirt that looked more like a belt.

Oh yeah, them... Do you want to have more kids? Aino had to ask one more time, even if they were sure that two was just perfect.

No, I don't want more kids. Why do you ask?

No reason... Can we have sex after the kids go to sleep then?

Yes, yes we can. Then, what did he know if it was bad to sleep together everytime something bad happened. If it made her feel better, who was he to judge?

For beeing so concerned, he sure wished he had a lot more selfcontrol than he did. But it hadn't harmed her yet, even if it was obvious that she selfmedicated a bit with sex. Either that, or she was hypersexual, which also could happen when... he couldn't even think about it; especially now. Pulling his wife a bit closer, Daniel tried getting her underpants off to no avail. And what was it with her and those trick- bras? He wanted to see her breasts...

Maybe it was a bad idea? Not that he should complain, but she always seemed so much more at ease after sleeping together. So did he, but maybe it should be different for women? He had no idea, but she seemed to be okay; even if she fell out a bit now and then. It usually helped if he talked to her a bit, still; what if he made everything worse for her? He was supposed to know these things, wasn't he?

She kept looking at him all the time, so it was definitly something that had happened. Couldn't she just tell him what went on? Everything would've been so much easier then. Not that this wasn't a good idea to ofcourse. Wait... okay, they had remembered protection. No more kids!

Aino had listened with half and ear to his snoring. But it wasn't why she wasn't able to sleep, nor was it what had happened earlier that day. She'd had a sneaking suspicion for a while now. It wasn't without reason she didn't put up a fight.

They were certain that they didn't want more kids. They had two; one boy and one girl; it was perfect. And they barely had time for eachother as it was.

This was so typical her. What was she going to do now?! He didn't want more kids, and now she was pregnant again!!

-------------------------------------------------------
autoflirt! Death and Aino hit it off bigtime. Sorry Death, she's already married and has children! I've been waiting for a way to "get rid" of Kol, then she bumped into him when going home from work. I just wasn't sure who should come to her rescue. Crazy- bitch and Trine (seen in earlier chapters) are firefighters, so I was supposed to use one of them. But then this old lady died in the club they met outside, so I just couldn't resist doing it this way. Yes I know it was stupid and pointless, but like... yeah, just... so there!

Brick is the most popular toy at the moment
