The white snow had long since gotten brown and heavy, filled up with carfumes and dirt. Hard and packed together in the nearby street, it slowly got covered in a fresh new carpet. But in a few hours, the pollution would once again take it's toll on it.
Joggers had long since given up trying to run, as their feet kept slipping and the more packed it got the heavier it was running through it. In the end, sims would barely be able to walk on the snowcovered pavement.
As snowflakeday was nearing, Gard took the time to meet up with an old friend. Two old men like that should probably have taken their wives advice, and stay indoors in the cold. But they decided that making a snowman was a better way of getting a hernia.
Meaves doing great, Marek said obviously proud and worried about his armyloving daughter. Rowena on the other hand.... He studied the snowman carefully: There's something wrong with her. I'm a horrible father for saying that about my own daugher aren't I?
The snowman stood as a sentiment to something they were both eventually facing. One way or another, death was coming for them. And this time they wouldn't come out alive.
You're not a bad father. There's a lot that can happen in a teenagers life. It's probably just a phase! Gard lied to Marek. He'd met the girl and to be honest...
Marek finished the thought for him: She scares me. I see a lot of Adela and Valerie in her. Not to mention.... that guy.... Yeah, it was that guy to.
They decided that meeting their wives indoors for some warm coffe, was better than having the dark snowman staring at them with glowing red eyes. Besides, their manly feet got cold!
Here we are, Iva shivering voice said: happily married for years, and my own son is divorced! And no grandchildren for any of us! Why don't our kids spawn?! Atleast her daughter was married to a kind man.
The two men didn't mention anything about their worries about Rowena for her. She wasn't of the best health, and had aged a lot more poorly then they had. They still kept insisting at meeting at the academy, since Gard was a master in sim- fu. He took every chance he had of showing off his skills.
The only certain thing in life is death.

Beeing owned by a unicorn meant that all hours of the day belonged to her. Morning or night, snow and rain, no matter what health sims were in; you are all hers. Anyone thinking that a unicorn and a horse were the same thing, was absolutely and blatantly wrong. A unicorn is not an animal; it's an entity in it's way. An ethereal grace, as difficult to grasp and understand for common sims as the moons haunting beauty. And also as cold and natural as the very same thing.
She threw her head from side to side, that long mane flowing, grasping the moons last rays. She was beautiful, and knew it all to well.
The unicorn loved showing off, adoring all longing looks. And she bit most sims that dared touch her, unless they offered her carrots. She was a woman after all, and loved to eat.
It had come as a big surprise that the unicorn chose to enter this realm as Marco made fun of her kind. But the more Joe thought about it, the more obvious it got: They were both big, blonde, well built and goodlooking. And so full of themselves that half of it was more than enough. Everyone they met wanted to own them, or be like them.
And even if they both bit hard and had their negative sides, they were pretty goodnatured and didn't have a bad core. After all, how many beautiful blondes would let Joe climb them without even complaining. Or try to get away?
Joe had tried all manners of names for her, but she didn't approve of any of them. It was supposed to have something to do with a moon. Probably because she was mooncoloured. But names like Io, Tethys and so on really didn't get approved. He thought they were good, atleast Tethys...
As a pretty lady walked out of the stable, the unicorn decided to show off a bit. She often did.
He wasn't a great rider, but Joe couldn't get mad at her. Let's just face it, she was so beautiful that he could bask in her glow.
The unicorn made him feel like an awesome knight! Not some boring fairytale knight, more like a teutonic one. Yeah!! That was awesome!! Hochmeister Joakim, hey that actually sounded pretty good. He'd totally rock armour. Giving him weapons on the other hand might not be the best idea.
The unicorn seemed to agree, and threw herself into another pose. To bad the pretty lady was gone, so no one saw them. But they were still cool!!
A rainbow appeared as they left the stablearea. Not very knightly, but defenitly unicornly. Yes, that's a word!
You know... Joe tried talking some sense into the unicorn. We were supposed to train outside the stable, not freelance ride.... His voice jumped up and down with her trot, bet a hochmeister didn't get an aching but from that.
If he had more experience with women, he'd known that they never listen anyway.
This would never end well! Joe was worried about what would happen. Jericho was a big city, and horseback riding wasn't the safest thing around. He could only hope that she would stay away from the roads. How was horses on slippery surfaces anyway?
And yet again, Joe did his best attempt to figure out what her name was. He was crazy, so talking to a horse wasn't strange to him.
So I have another idea, he said with nervous voice to the unicorn. I'll start with the alphabet, and you do some hors... unicorn thing to stop at the right letter. Sounds okay to you?
She made a horse sound that didn't sound to terrifying. Bet teutonic knights never had problems like this with their horses....
K...L....M....The unicorn made a sound at the M. Okay, so your name starts with an M! Joe said with positive voice. He'd already tried all versions of "moon" he could think of, but it fell poorly with the unicorn. She kept dragging him through the hills at the cities outskirts, so atleast they woyldn't get run over by a car.
He tried again: A... an got an immedeat response: So M..a.. then. Are you sure your name's not Marco? You two have a lot in common.
She didn't throw him off at that comment. Like most women, she liked Marco. But unlike most he'd met, she highly preffered him, Joe!! He really loved her, even if she was a tad moody.
The pollution hadn't coloured the white snow so far away from the roads, and few sims walked there. So Joe gave up trying to control the entity, and just let her do her thing. A mans control over a womans choices only exists in his mind anyway.
Bigfoot wondered what those two freaks were doing as he ran into hiding behind a tree. The sim were to busy to notice him thankfully. He'd seen enough cryptozoologist thank you very much!
H!!! He exclaimed as the sasquatch shook it's head at him, what an idiot: Mah....
As they came back to the stable, he gave the unicorn a hug: Mahdis! He laughed softly as she made a warm sound back to him and proudly threw her head around. Moonlike! Beautiful like the moon!
Duh.... What else would suit her? Even in daylight she glowed like the fullmoon. If Mahdis had been a sim, she'd probably facepalm him.
Mahdis seemed happy about beeing called something else than "the unicorn", or just simply "her". He was such an idiot. He'd been expecting some weird unicorn name, not a real one. She tried chewing on his jacket as a sign of good will. No one could come here and tell Mahdis she didn't know how to take care of her sim!

In usual manner, Marco was a lucky bastard. Ally was beautiful and far from as freaky as he'd been worried about. All in all a good experience, which was the main reason for sleeping with someone. Even better, their agreement that none of them wanted anything serious, still stood. It wasn't a relationship, they were both sleeping with others, but it was a nice arrangment.
Marco loved this thing! Why didn't he have one of this at home? It was great, and he was so awesome this couldn't possibly go wrong!
Mate!! He hollered as his muscles cramped, whilst doing his best to be acrobatic. This is AWESOME!! You have got to try this!!! The machine coughed, and whined as it tried throwing his weight around. It was always a little timelaps as it really picked up speed.
The smooth donut placed a fatty film inside his mouth. It tastet so god it almost hurt, still just a bit warm. A sharp taste of lemon mixed in with the silky smooth frosting, and just a small sprinkle of topping.
It was best to eat it whilst gorilla- man was busy doing something else. Or he'd just talk about saturated fats, sugars, bloodpressure and other boring things normal sims didn't care about. He really needed to realx a bit, enjoying the good things in life wasn't going to kill him.
Marco fell out with a heavy thump. Once again, the machine won and he lost. But one of these days he'd come out on top!! He usually was on top anyway...
The activity- centre reeked of old sweat, chlorine and feet. The aging paint on the wall had long since faded, the carpet stained and shiny after years of soled feet stomping on it.
Joe had to hand it to blondie, staying active did wonders for mood, and mental health. But football was fun, even if it sucked Marco was better than him. No wonder with those long gorilla arms...
They even met up with Marcos partner, and had a friendly competition on the wall! By the looks of it, one had to be part monkey to join the force, as Joe lost big time! How the hell did they do that anyway? Look at those little monkeys going!
Rye really looked like shit, and clearly used the same tattoo artist as Ally. But she was hot ofcourse.
You know, Marco said. I'd never thought I'd say this, but you use to much hairspray!
Rye laughed and went: It's glue!!
Glue in the hair? It's a miracle it hadn't all fallen out. Ofcourse a balding Rye would be insanely funny. Wonder if he'd regret shaving most his hair off when he actually started loosing it? Why would any guy want to shave their hair away anyway? Women liked hair on men didn't they? Not that Marco cared if women shaved their heads or not, but that was different.
As the old gang had accidentaly met at the winterfair, it was natural that others popped up to. Joe felt compelled to shake hands with Bashir, as he'd mainly been a friend of Marcos.
Nice seeing you again, he said. The politicians handshake was firm, and clearly belonged to someone used to it.
With it's relative warmth, winter had for once showed a little upswing in criminal activities, according to Marco. The politicians used it to their advantage, trying to put some new and fresh people into certain higher positions. He understood the wish to remove the reign of ancient and crusty men, but how could it be their fault that crime increased? Politicians were strange. Joe didn't have any idea what side Bashir was on either. Not that he cared, as no big changes was ever made.
Snowflake day was closing in, and the city had taken on another tone. Busy shopping, long lines and irritating music covered every little corner, but a good mood generally ran through the population. Good thing they didn't have it so insanely (poor choice of words) cold, even if Bashir had the eyecolour of the glazed surface on a long frozen lake, bathed in the lights in the blue hour. Joe had felt poetic lately..... it was probably not a good sign.
Bashir was one of those irritated sims that looked good in everything. Never looked tired, worn down or smelled bad. Ever!! Looking at that flawless skin made Joe sure he never had to shave either. The most annoying thing was that you just had to like him.
I keep myself busy at the county hall, he said with a voice that matched the eyecolour. The times I'm not driven or fly somewhere...... Had he always sounded so calm and cold?
He looks every bit the politician he is. The thought ran through Marcos head. Really, look at that hair! Every little strain is in the perfect spot. Not a single stubble on his cheek, not a spot on the skin. Nothing! Maybe he wasn't real....
You know, we fund the police ball, Marco started paying attention again. It wasn't that he hadn't followed every thing else he said, he was a cop after all. He just stopped admir.. contemplating his looks. Are you going? Bashirs voice made it chillier. It might have been a pretty mild winter, but that didn't mean the temperature didn't drop as night was claiming the city for it's own.
I'm not that far up in the hierarchy yet, Marco answered the question as Bashir flashed those perfect, white teeth, and went: Then I'll get you and a partner an invitation.
I'm single.... He wasn't sure why, but there was something about Bashir that made red lights flash, despite the perfect skin. It wasn't any use asking him about a dermatologists name; he'd always have that matted silken skin... not that Marco noticed..... *cough*
Take a friend then.... Bashir wasn't backing off.
I doubt Joe will look nice in a dress. Yup, that alarm was still there, howling away at full strength. That might be the thought of Joakim in a dress ofcourse.
He flashed those perfect teeth again: Not one for formal attire in other words?
Marco mimiced the smile, and confirmed his assumption. And without actually understanding why: Would you like to come over for Snowflake day?
Iva and Gard was spending it with Marek and his family. Marco was going to be on call anyway, so him and Joe was staying home. Maybe he could get something out of the politician, something to scratch that little itch he had.
It was probably Marcos great hair that did the trick, as Bashir gave a polite: I'd like that. He had so much better hair than that slimeball anyway.
Joe was still awesome.
Rye wasn't afraid to breake his fingers even if that's how he made a living.
Marcos hair had so much hairspray his head would never get hurt.
Even Dominic turned out to be a natural. Marco had awesome friends!

And Mahdis finally has a name :) I can honestly say this is the first (and only) time I'll actually search for a fitting name for anyone or anything.
I don't know if kids nowadays use glue in your mohawks, but that's how we did it back in the days.
Thanks for reading
