Iva
was one of four children born to wealthy parents in the large city of
Jericho. As most of the children in her neighbourhood, she was
tormented by her two older sisters; the witches. Unstable and plain
bullies, the young Iva learned a healthy ammount of suspicion against
the few supernaturals around town. But still they seem to flock to
her for unknown reasons.
Upon
reaching adulthood, the stubborn and headstrong Iva decides she wants
to make a name for herself as a writer and picks one she likes the
schwung of; Sleitinn. In her mind a good name for an aspiring writer,
and for the better part it separates her name, from her brutal
sisters that quickly rose in ranks amongst the violent criminals in
town. To complicate things, she suddenly starts viewing her and her
twin brothers old friend Lukas, in a new way. Iva chooses to ignore
that Lukas is a fairy, his marriage and many affairs, and decides she
wants him. The attempt doesn't end in any romance for Iva, but in a
bitter fight that leaves her resentment for those who are different
even deeper.
Eventually
it doesn't end well for her two sisters, as they are found given a
witches death in the city of Riverwiev. When she realizes one of her
sisters have an infant daughter, she decides to look into the matters
with the help of her brother Marek, and two childhood friends of
theirs; the fairy Lukas, and the vampire Gard; whom she just never
can make up her mind about. As the four of them investigates in
Riverwiev, Iva finds that the story of her family is ridden with
violence and brutality. In an attempt to spare her brother from this
knowledge, she does her best to keep him occupied with the crime
against their sisters. Unfortunately it's not an easy task when
there's a vampire and fairy on your team.
Meeting
the enthralling vampire Michael, Iva finds a bit of help in him. But
to her irritation, Gard tends to show up whenever he's around making
the newfound subject of her attraction to quickly leave. Yet, she
still manages to end up in her own mothers childhood home, just to
find herself locked in the basement with Gard, whom keeps getting her
unjustified suspicion due to Ivas many negative experiences with
supernaturals. In the cramped situation, Iva decides to share with
him what she figured out about her family: her crazy grandmother was
held a prisoner in the very cellar they are stuck in, leaving the
eternal vampires Florian and Natalia free to commit series of
murders, and keeping her grandmothers very exsistence from the world.
In this house, with two murderes, her own mother lived her entire
childhood, also witnessing the death of her brother as the young boy
eventually took the unlife of the eternal Florian. Or so it was
believed, and Iva chooses to ignore Gards many uncertanties.
As
Lukas finally finds the two others, she realizes he left her brother
alone visiting the site of their sisters death. However, as the fairy
had found an old picture of the elusive Florian, Iva knows that a
young boy can't kill and eternal vampire. In horror she has to
realize that Florian still walks amongst the living under the name
Michael; the same man that had sent her to the house. She finally
sees why her sisters deaths were as violent as they were, as the same
Florian is the head of the criminals in Riverwiev, taking his hatred
for his traitor niece and nephew out on their descendants. Ivas
sisters looked like his niece, their mother, and her brother Marek
looks just like the boy that attempted to take Florians life. That he
had lured her up to the house to take her out, doesn't even occur to
her as she rushes to her brothers aid
After
the incident in Riverview, Iva takes her time getting over her
suspicions of the supernaturals, finding a strange ammount of support
in Gard, whom she has treated so unfairly. Eventually they find a
love for eachother that grew out of a strong friendship. Not that it
stops Iva from having jealouse tantrums, but Gard has a lot of
patience for his foultempered wife. Which he will truly need with two
children, that both prove to be a handful in their own ways.
Gard
and Ivas oldest daughter, Oriana, is a true daddies girl with a
tendency of ignoring the obvious. Even with the fortune of strong
familybonds and good friends, she often tends to focus on the direct
negativity in her life; like getting teased by non nerds, and beeing
annoyed at her younger brother Marco. Feeling that he takes away her
frecious dad- time, annoying her to no end plagues the young girl. To
make things worse, everyone she knows seems to think her gross
brother is handsome.
Marco
unfortunately figures out that if he's ever wants to get attention
from Oriana, he has to irritate her or get ignored. He's popular
amongst the girls, has good friends and has the gift of ignoring
thinking about consequenses. He even stands up for his sister, which
he'd never admit. As it turns out, he's better at keeping secrets
than anyone would give him credit for.
As
much as the two siblings would hate to admit it; they are quite
similar. It just shows itself in different ways. They enter adulthood
on different terms; Oriana marries and moves in with her husband, and
Marco decides to enter university where he disappeares before
graduation.
Generation 2
Ending
up in the policeforce, Marco moves in with his parents after working
undercover. His childhood friend Joe, quickly takes up residence with
them. Just when everything seems normal, a unicorn appeares out of
nowwhere, taking a liking to Joe. Mahdis, as the animals name is, is
moody, agressive, very beautiful and knows it.
Working
as a policeofficer, Marco find himself suspicious of his old
schoolmate Bashir. He again, has taken it upon himself to find what
Marco knows about the elaborate scheem his superior is trying to
pull. Upon his first visit to the household, Oriana shows up
admitting that she's divorced her husband and moves back home.
Oriana
decides that Joe and her cousine Meave would be a great match. As far
as she knows, Meave is in the army, and she later marries Joe.
Despite owning a home, Joe stayes with the family, terrified that his
mental issues will be to much for him when his wife is out on all her
army business.
Getting
a new assignment to sell information about the cops doings around
town, to the criminals, Marco quickly gets frustrated with how slow
the work to take out the syndicate goes. But when a bomb goes off, he
finds it to be a great excuse to take matters into his own hands. The
bombing harms Bashir in the process, sending Oriana into his waiting
arms and they later marry. With Bashirs involvment in the syndicate,
he is often out of town. No one but Marco finds it suspicious that he
seems hellbent on his wife staying with her parents. But he'd rather
have her safe with him and Joe, than living with Bashir.
Before
Marco really gets looking into things on his own, he crosses paths
with a childhood heroes significantly younger wife, and she ends up
pregnant with his child. As she gives birth, her elderly husband dies
and she's convinced he died because of her infidelity. Giving the
babygirl to Marco, the two never meet again.
Joe and
Meave have a son, and Oriana and Bashir has a daughter. Then Marco
ends up with another son by a friend with benefits. With four babies
in the household, Oriana accidentally makes a seed that turns into a
plantbaby boy. Joe and Meave name their son Efraim, Oriana and Bashir
name their daughter Lucrecia, and Marco names his daughter Skuld, and
the son Odin. The plantbaby is given the name Jarl.
Discovering
that Meaves sister Rowena leads the criminals in Jericho, Marco and
his partner Dominic, decides that it's time to make things go faster.
Marco starts terrorizing the smalltime criminals without his
superiors knowledge. It ends poorly as Marco gets abducted, and taken
to one of the criminals hideouts in another town. This is
where he learns that a legal organization, MorcuCorp, are trying to
gain political and echonomical control over Jericho by illegal terms.
They are working with Rowena and her gang, who has a strange idea of
finding the source to eternal life; Rowenas own little project. To
make it worse, Marcos suspicions about Bashir turns out to be true,
as he learns that the brotherinlaw is in on it.
Rowenas
sanity quickly deteriorates without reason, and she tires of the
MorcuCorps slow progress on her project. She is convinced Marco
wants to be a part of her team, but when she tries introducing him to
them, they threated to back out of the deal. She orderes Marco and
Bashir killed and imprisons the MorcuCorps. In an unexpected turn of
events Bashir ends up saving Marco, and finds that even if he's been
using differents means; he has also been trying to stop the
MorcuCorps and Rowenas gang getting what they want from the city.
Unfortunately
Oriana does her very best trying to find her brother, and meets a
helper along the way. He turns out to be a member of MorcuCorp, and
he and a few others from the criminal syndicate tries to take charge.
When they learn that the leader of MorcuCorp is dead by Marcos hands,
they initiate a deep cleaning and decideds to start killing off
everyone in the household.
Joe and
Efraim gets a surprise rescue by Mahdis, which dies after taking them
away where they find she's had a foal. The rest of the children are
rescued by their babysitters. But Oriana and Meave both gets murdered
by someone they thought was a friend. Despite the police showing up,
it's to late to save them. But Marcos partner Dominic takes it upon
himself to take the life of the woman that betrayed and killed them,
thus leaving his own wife, and also his son, Ian, fatherless.
After
the incident, the family moves to a new house and Marco allows Bashir
to move in with them. He just can't bare the thought of loosing
contact with his sisters daughter, Lucrecia. Keeping what truly
happened from the children and Joe, the family slowly moves on with
their lives. In large thanks to the one that Bashir really got his
orders from, who saves them from ending up in prison. Despite all
that has happened, the children turn out pretty decent, and live on
without any larger incidents.
Atleast
as far as the adults know. Jarl however, gets to know some very
unpleasant truths about Skuld and Bashir is in reality the only one
that keeps her from unleashing her full potential. She is
obsessing with a story told to to her as a child, about eternal youth
and life. All along she knows she wants to be the only one. Dominics
son, Ian, and Marco is the only ones that seems to think she is
flawless, together with Skuld ofcourse. But she wishes she knew what
to do about her recurring dreams about a sinisterlooking woman.
As the
children grow up, Skuld persues a career in alchemy, Lucrecia a DNA
analyst, Efraim aims at becoming a CEO, Odin surprised everyone with
a doctorcareere, and Jarl ends up as a scientist.
